Citizen's Charter
A Citizens' Charter serves as an embodiment of an organization's dedication to maintaining standards, quality, and timely service delivery. It outlines the grievance redress mechanism, emphasizes transparency, and underscores accountability. The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, operating under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, Government of India, is actively engaged in facilitating more responsive and citizen-friendly governance. This department plays a coordinating role in formulating and putting into practice Citizens' Charters.
Numerous Central Government Ministries, Departments, and Organizations have introduced their own Citizens' Charters. To ensure the effective implementation of these charters, Nodal Officers have been designated within the respective Central Government Ministries, Departments, and Organizations.
